My dear followers,
I am very happy to tell you, the dog is much, much better now!
She was so excited when I picked her up from the clinic, it was really touching :’-)
Sadly, it turned out that she’s got Addison’s disease, which means failure of the adrenal glands, so she will need medication for the rest of her life. It’s also really important to substitute more cortison, if there’s anything straining or stressful for her that can’t be avoided, be it travel, a long hike or an infection.
I haven’t been able to reach my sister and her family yet, but if it turns out that they can’t care for her well, or life at their house is simply too stressful (they both work and have 3 children, lots of vistors and a whole bunch of other pets), I’ll gladly take her.
Then we would be two happy spoonies together :-)
